Italianetz (2005)

At any country there are orphans waiting for adoption, living in a rundown orphanage, manipulated by adults, and try to find their identity. Using Neo-realist approach, where the movie was simple but touching, Andrei Kravchuk showed Russia landscape at the cold winter, a shabby orphanage, slum housing, and plain clothes.

Vanya (Kolya Spiridonov) is a six years-old child who lives in a shabby orphanage where the older residents have bleak job. However this time Vanya gets a little ‘luck’, he will be adopted by parents from Italy. In this ‘transaction’, the liaison, Madam (Mariya Kuznetsova), and the headmaster of the orphanage will get big commission.

But when a woman who had ever left her son in this orphanage comes looking for her son (her child was Vanya’s friend who has been adopted by other family), Vanya has a desire to find his mother, he is afraid if he goes to Italy, his mother won’t be able to meet him.

With the help of another kid from the orphanage, Vanya steals documents from the headmaster’s office and then runs away to a big city to find his mother based on information in that documents. Vanya starts his adventure to find his mother; he should avoid the pursuit of madam who’s angry because if Vanya is missing, then her commission will also disappear. Besides that, Vanya has to struggle against the tough-live of big city, he should face the street kids who try to hurt him, and the worse Vanya doesn’t know the address where his mother lives, he’s only following his instinct that’s sure if his mother is still alive.

This movie wanted to criticize the adults who take advantage of adoption process of children from the orphanage. This movie also wanted to remind the children who live in a warm family to be grateful because there are many children who are not as fortunate as they are.

Kolya Spiridonov played as Vanya very well and natural, he has an amazing acting talent. This movie won the ‘Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk Grand Prix’ and ‘Glass Bear for Best Feature Film’ in the Berlin International Film Festival at 2005. Andrei Kravchuk won the CIFEJ Prize in Carrousel International du Film in Montreal.

Happy Single in Valentine’s Day

February 11th, 2010 by turisuna 1 comment »

Although you are a single, doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to be happy in Valentine’s Day. You can also be happy even without a boyfriend, you can share love with friends, family, or just spoil yourself. To liven your Valentine’s Day, you can do these several things:

1. Shopping
Shopping can be an alternative to spend time on Valentine’s Day, enjoy the discount party at shopping center. One study revealed that women aged 20-40 years could get pleasure from shopping. The challenge to find good stuff at a low price can provide great satisfaction. Shopping even can be a good therapy for health because it can boost your heartbeat up to 39 percent. But remember, you should manage your finance before sliding into shopping center.

2. Smile
Smile to people around you, sincere smile can create a happy life. You can share your happiness by smiling to other people.

3. Have a happy Sunday
This year, the Valentine’s Day falls on Sunday. That means you have free time to have fun without thinking about job. You can go for vacation with friends or family to your favorite place. If you have someone who you like (but you are not sure if he has same feeling), there’s no wrong if you invite him for lunch and spend time together at this lovely Sunday.

4. Positive Thinking
Don’t let negative thoughts fill your brain. Realize that you still have friends and family who love you.

5. Spoil yourself at salon
Do manicure and pedicure to your hands and feet. Give a touch of bright color on your nails to give a happy mood. Red may be a good choice for Valentine’s Day because you are full of love. Besides manicure and pedicure you can also try other treatments, such as massage, creambath, and spa.

6. Gathering with people who love you
When you feel sad and lonely, go to the place where you feel welcome, such as hang out with friends at coffee shop, or visit your family.

7. Looking for favorite food
Besides shopping, find favorite food is a good choice to get pleasure. Invite friends or family to your favorite restaurant. Or choose a restaurant that serves various unique foods. While enjoying the foods, you can celebrate the Valentine’s Day by sharing life story or interesting information.

8. Don’t just wait
Waiting for love that never comes is the same boring as waiting for a late bus. Don’t spend your time just for waiting; you better do some positive activities that can live your life, who knows when you are enjoying your activity; love will come unexpectedly and surprisingly.

9. Bathing in bath-up
Bathing in bath-up and enjoy your favorite music can be an interesting option. To make you more relaxed, add bubbles or aromatherapy candles complete with fresh smells. If you want, you can also enjoy the bathing by reading a love story novel, don’t mess the relaxed atmosphere with a serious matter, just forget your job for while.

10. Interested to other people
Don’t push yourself to be an interesting person, but try to be interested to other people.

Myth: You won’t get pregnant if man’s sperm issued outside

Myth: A man watches blue movie because he feels unsatisfied with his partner.
Fact: Sometimes man needs visual element such as blue movie to masturbate, and even it’s also done by a married man. A blue movie is only a medium for man to finish ‘his job’ quicker, it doesn’t mean that he feels unsatisfied with his partner or he is interested to other woman.

Love Yourself

February 7th, 2010 by turisuna 2 comments »

1. Stop criticizing yourself
One of bad things that could hinder someone to reach her dream is negative self-talk. Sometimes without realizing, you are the biggest bad commentator for yourself. When you see a beautiful woman who gets much attention from men, suddenly you say to yourself that you are an ugly woman who doesn’t deserve to be loved by any man. Or when someone can do a job better than you, you starts to be nervous and say to yourself that you are a fool who can’t do something well. From now stop giving bad comments to yourself; if you respect yourself then others will respect you too.

2. Discover your potential talent
Everyone has talent, including you. Find your potential talent that can’t be owned by other person. If you still can not find your talent, make a list of your interests. Choose one of them that you like the most, commit to yourself that you are willing to undergo your choice, whatever the risk you will face in the future. Sharpen an interest seriously and full of commitment will create a potential talent that’s difficult to be imitated by others.

3. Aware of your own capability
If recently some men are crazy about girl who is good in dancing, and lot of your friends take a dancing class, you do not need to panic and rush to apply for the same course. If you feel that you are not interested in dancing, and your body is too stiff to dance, you don’t have to force yourself to be a dancing expert. Maybe you are not a good dancer, but who knows if you can be a good writer who will release a bestseller novel. Identify your own capability, don’t just follow the trend.

4. Do simple things
Sometimes simple things you do can give big impact to other people. For example; smile to your colleagues in the office, give chocolates to your sister, or send funny sms to your lover etc, all that simple things can make other people happy and smile to you. If you can make other people feel happy with simple things that you have done to them, then why don’t you do it again tomorrow ;)

5. Enjoy your life
Give yourself a chance to breathe and take a break from all busyness. If you’ve been working too hard and neglect your health, it means you do not love yourself. Enjoy your life and do some favorite activities, hang out with friends, hear your favorite music, or traveling with your family. Happiness will shine from you and you will look more interesting ;)

6. Celebrate your success
In this life you must have some goals, no matter how small the goal that you can achieve, give yourself reward when you are able to achieve it. Celebrate your success by doing interesting things, such as going to spa, buy a box of chocolates, or go to a beauty center, you deserve to get that reward.

7. Fall in love with yourself
Every morning before you do your daily activities, try to stand in front of a mirror, smile, and then say positive things to yourself. Such as: “Hi sweetie … you look beautiful today”, “This beautiful eyes and smile will be able to make my sweetheart loves me for more”, or “You have studied hard yesterday, now you are ready to face every single test at school”. Fall in love with yourself will make your life more interesting and full of energy.
